Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute the agreement between you and InboxBucket ("we", "us") governing your use of inboxbucket.com and the InboxBucket service. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree to them, you may not use the service.
The service
InboxBucket backs up emails to storage that you own. You connect a storage provider (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or S3-compatible storage), we assign you a unique inbound email address, and any email sent or forwarded to that address is archived to your storage as a raw .eml file, with a searchable backup history available in your dashboard.
InboxBucket is a backup service. It is not an email provider, and it does not host your mailbox. The durable copy of every archived email resides in your storage, not on our servers.
Your account
You must provide a valid email address and maintain access to it; it is used for authentication and for service communications concerning your backups. Your account is personal to you. You must not share sign-in codes or permit others to use your account, and you are responsible for all activity conducted through it.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use InboxBucket.
Your storage destination
Backups are delivered to a storage account that you control, under your own agreement with the relevant provider. You are responsible for:
- keeping the storage connection authorized, including re-authenticating when the provider requires it (connection issues are surfaced in the dashboard);
- maintaining sufficient storage capacity and an account in good standing with your provider;
- not deleting or relocating archived files that you intend to retain;
- periodically verifying that your backups contain the expected data.
If delivery to your storage fails, the affected email is queued for retry and the failure is displayed in your dashboard. We cannot deliver to a storage account that is full, disconnected, or closed.
No guarantee of email delivery
Email as a transport medium is inherently unreliable: sending servers, forwarding rules, spam filtering, and size limits are outside our control. We take reasonable measures to process every message that reaches our systems reliably — including deduplication of provider retries to prevent duplicate storage — but we cannot guarantee that every email directed to your InboxBucket address will arrive, or will arrive intact. You should retain your original mailbox as the primary copy of your correspondence; InboxBucket is a supplementary backup, not a replacement.
Acceptable use
You may use InboxBucket only to back up email that you are lawfully entitled to possess. You must not use the service to:
- store or distribute content that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of others;
- distribute malware or other harmful code;
- relay unsolicited bulk email, or direct mail streams at the service that are designed to abuse it;
- probe, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
- resell the service or offer it to third parties as your own.
Inbound addresses that are published carelessly may attract unsolicited mail. We provide per-inbox sender allowlists and may apply spam filtering; we may also decline to process messages that exceed size limits or that we reasonably believe to be abusive.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these provisions. Where reasonable, we will issue a warning first.
Plans and payment
The free plan is subject to the usage limits stated on the pricing page. The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment that removes those limits for the lifetime of the service — that is, for as long as InboxBucket is operated, and not for the lifetime of any person. Payments are processed by Stripe.
If a payment is refunded or subject to a chargeback, the associated account reverts to the free plan. Prices and plan limits may change; such changes will not retroactively revoke a completed Lifetime purchase. For issues concerning a purchase, contact [email protected]. Statutory refund and withdrawal rights that apply to you remain unaffected by these Terms.
Your data
Your emails and archived files remain your property. We claim no ownership of them and process them solely to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We retain only headers-level metadata on our systems; the archived emails themselves reside in your storage.
You may delete individual inboxes or your entire account at any time. Deletion of your account removes your data from our systems as described in the Privacy Policy; files already delivered to your own storage are unaffected.
Intellectual property
The InboxBucket service, website, and branding are our property. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer any intellectual property rights to you.
Termination
You may stop using InboxBucket and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue the service or terminate a Lifetime account in the absence of a violation of these Terms, we will provide reasonable advance notice so that you can redirect your backups; your archived emails already reside in your own storage.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data where the loss results from email transport failures, your storage provider, or your own account configuration, none of which are under our control. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health), and nothing in these Terms reduces mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply to you.
Changes to the service and these Terms
The service and its features may change over time. We may amend these Terms; material amendments will be communicated by email or through the dashboard before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms. If you do not accept them, you may delete your account.
